Intellimouse Explorer (Mystery Red Object Unveiled)

A while ago I published a macro photo of a mystery red object. Finally, here's the object in its entirety.
It's an original (well-worn) Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (circa 1999). We still have several of these around the house and they are still going strong (apart from the occasional cable break, necessitating some minor surgery).
Thanks to everyone who left their guesses on the original post.
Details: Nikon 50mm 1:1.8D, f/2, 1/60s, ISO 200, SB-800 flash.

hey, i remember that mouse, came with my dad's first xp desktop pc, it died about ayear later due to my dad getting mad at aol prerformance ans shattering the thing into peices he now uses a wireless microsoft mouse. if you have a dog, keep the mouse out of reach!! my akita had fun with one while my dad and i went out to store foodshopping.
