For the Tooth Fairy
Michael's first baby tooth fell out today. I'll let Theen tell the story:
We'd been concerned about the lack of action on the losing-teeth-front as he is already 7.25 years, and everyone else in class had already had a visit from the tooth fairy long ago.
The tooth came loose yesterday and we saw the dentist this morning. Note the x-ray taken 2 weeks ago, confirming the imminence of that tooth coming out. Can you believe the teeth hidden below the gums? It's like Alien.
An hour later, we were at the sushi bar and Michael was grimacing at the mirror while I was on the phone. 'Hey Mum, I pulled it out!' he announced and suddenly I was handed a tooth, covered in saliva slime and blood.
Photos 2 and 3 are courtesy of Theen.
Photo 1 was made using a 50mm lens, reversed onto my 70-300mm zoom (at 70mm).
Details: (tooth photo) Nikon 50mm 1:1.8 reversed in front of Tamron 70-300mm, 70mm, f/11, 1/60s, ISO 200.

Thanks for the horrifying x-ray. It is freaky to think that kids have 2 sets of teeth in their mouths!! I never really thought about it much. It is freaky to think about & actually SEE on x-ray!!! Thanks!!! Hope the tooth fairy is generous!!
