Chinese Redbud
September 03, 2005
At the Botanic Gardens, I saw a tree in bloom with these flowers. From a distance I assumed they were plum blossom, but up close they looked quite different. According to the label underneath, it's a Chinese Redbud (Cercis chinensis), from the Leguminosae family — so basically it's a 'pea-tree'.
Details: Nikon 105mm 1:2.8 macro, ~f/5.6, 1/250s, ISO 200.

It's beautiful - my favorite hot pink color. I like that you took a brown background and sky background - makes me like the color even better.
