Lotus Seed Pods
March 25, 2005
Two months on, and the Lotus pond at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens is now covered with dry seed pods. Compare with how it looked back in January.
Details: Nikon 18-70mm kit lens, f/4.5, 1/200s, ISO 200, curves.

These look like some otherworldly pods contacting the mother ship. Great shot.

I'm with Brad, I've never seen pods like that before and they are so incredibly beautiful and otherworldly ... sigh.

Thank you for sharing such beauty. We don't have lotus in Alaska, so it was lovely to see the before and after shots. It's strange that I've seen lotus pods used in plant arrangements in the past, but never knew that's what they were. Thanks!

Thanks everyone. They do look as though they're phoning home (the sun?), except for the two on the left, who've given up hope.
