Red Flowers 2005
May 30, 2005
These bright red flowers show up all around our neighbourhood, around this time of year — here's what they looked like last year (with a different camera).
I still don't know what they're called — if you know, leave a comment.
Update: Thanks to Jamie and daisies, it looks as if these are Poinsettias. A Google Image search for poinsettia shows mostly small potplants, but this image looks more like what I see: largish shrubs or small trees.
Details: Nikon 105mm 1:2.8 macro, ~f/8, 1/500s, ISO 200.

I think these look like pointsettes, but I'm not sure where you live. Typically, this is a Christmas flower for yanks :)

I don't know but I agree with Jamie, they do have a pointsetta look about them ... I love how you have portrayed such a different look and mood between last year's shot and this years .. both fine perspectives :)
