n3on: Thanks, I was starting to get bored waiting for my noodles, and these little containers started calling out to me. Eventually I plucked up the courage to use my camera in the shop, but certainly no flash -- quite a bit of indirect sunlight coming in through the north-facing window (that's towards the sun here in Australia :-) ).
The lens is an old manual focus 105mm f/2.8 Nikon macro lens -- I'd say it's the sharpest of my lenses. However it's a bit of a pain to use, as it doesn't play properly with the camera -- not even any metering (lots of guessing exposures and test shots).
I'd say this one has had some curves or a faded overlay layer done, possibly faded out away from the center a bit with a radial gradient. I'm going to have to start keeping notes, or listing all the details below each image.

Great ! I like the soft colors and the shallow depth. What lens did you use ? Was it shot with a flash ?
